If you like shopping, eating out and partying, then downtown Banff is a great place to find a hotel. Banff Ave., the main strip through town, is littered with hotels. It's a fairly long way from the Banff Springs or the Upper Hot Springs into town, although it is walkable in the summer. But, you can enjoy the town by staying at one of the many downtown hotels in Banff.
The Banff Lodging Company owns many of Banff's hotels downtown. The Fox Hotel and Caribou Lodge are both on Banff Ave., and are very close to the heart of town. These properties are both well located and cozy.
For a name brand hotel in downtown Banff, the Delta Banff Royal Canadian Lodge is one of only three 4-star of higher hotels in Banff. The other two are the Rimrock and the Banff Springs, both of which are a short drive from downtown.
A Banff Boutique Inn is not on the hustle and bustle of Banff Ave., but it's still close to the heart of downtown Banff. This property is next to a wilderness area on the edge of town, where you can see many of Banff's wild citizens grazing and migrating.
