Top 10:

Banff Cabins/Chalets

  • The Best of NileGuide
  • There's nothing more authentically Western Canadian than a log cabin. It is a symbol of the west and the explorers that first opened up the Rockies. Chalets have opened up the region to tourists, who are looking for a quaint, private experience of the mountains. The warmth of a wood-fueled fireplace and the comfort of a down blanket make the experience perfectly relaxing. And, the ability to experience the power and beauty of nature is unparalleled.

The Castle Mountain Chalets are right in between Banff and Lake Louise. Castle Mountain is one of the most recognizable (and properly named) mountains in Alberta. It is a favorite for hikers. The Castle Junction can take you down Highway 93 toward Radium. It has a lot of day hiking trails and rest spots. But, it is also one of the most beautiful and scenic drives in the world.

The Baker Creek Chalets in Lake Louise are perfect for conferences and business events. The conference room makes it very easy to host, and the chalets are great for guests to enjoy privacy, experience the surrounding, and to enjoy the closeness to Lake Louise.

Skoki Lodge is in the back-country by Lake Louise. After traveling into the wild for 8km, visitors can find the lodge, which is Alberta's oldest commercial ski lodge. There are lots of trails around the lodge for hikers, cross-country skiers, and snowshoers to explore. The lodge itself does not have running water or electricity, but it is surprisingly comfortable. And food is provided.
