Banff Tours

  • Traveling in a tour is a stress-free way to enjoy Banff National Park. There's no worry about driving down unfamiliar highways, missing out on hidden out-of-the-way points of interest, and finding places to eat in the middle of nowhere. Many of the tours of the National Park are based out of the town of Banff, but there are some that start elsewhere, such as in Calgary. Most of the popular tours are bus coaches, but there are some unique (and even self-guided) tours that are worth considering.

The GyPSy (clever name!) is a GPS self-guided tour of the National Parks. This program gives directions to various points of interest through the park and provides interesting information as you go along. It's great for independence, but you'll be on your own to find accommodation and food.

The Warner Guiding and Outfitting company is a horseback vacation specialist. Tenting in the back-country of Banff National Park is definitely an experience your friends will envy when you tell the stories at home! Other companies, such as Brewster and Canadian Adventure Centre also have similar tours. Hearing the stories and experiences of real-life cowboys and cooking over a fire will give memories you can't form anywhere else.

A trip to Lake Louise and Moraine Lake is a must for any travelers to Banff National Park. Anybody who travels this far to see the Rockies owes it to themselves to see the mountain lakes. They are truly a jewel in the crown of Canadian tourism.

A rafting tour down the Bow River is a relatively peaceful way to see the wildlife and scenery of the park. The river is not particularly wild, and there shouldn't be too strong of rapids. But, the birds and animals flock to the river's edge, so it's one of the best ways to enjoy the wildlife in Banff.
