Description:

The Banff National Park Administration Building (formerly, Canada Place) is located across the bridge from Banff Avenue. It is the picturesque end to the famous avenue, designed to fit the mountain setting and made from only local materials. For a government administration building, it has to be one of the most beautiful in Canada. This building has been a Banff landmark since the 1930's, as the federal government's first representation within the National Park. The grounds around the building are open to the public, everyday, and they are a great place to picnic or toss a frisbee. Up the hill from the administration building is the Cascades of Time Garden. Banff has one of the most difficult climates for gardening in the world, but from June to September each year this garden is in bloom. And, it's one of the nicest gardens in Alberta (probably the nicest). The Cascades Gardens are a lovely place to take pictures or have a romantic walk with your favorite person.
