• Beer Vault is a beer lover's heaven in Bangkok. In a city of Chang, Leo, Singha, this is a welcome reprieve. On tap are Guinness, Stella and Hoegaarden, but also two shades of Leffe. Bottles is where the variety comes in: two dozen Belgian beers, five German, three Aussie, plus Birra Moretti, Corona and Asahi. England contributes three ciders. Shandies and beer cocktails are also offered besides a standard collection of fine liquors. Snacks from salads to chicken wings, shepherd's pie to mango cheesecake help you pretend you are not just here to drink.
  
  The lounge has comfortable seating areas, a small mezzanine overlooking the room, and some outdoor bar stools circling beer-barrel tables. It all has a pleasant chic look to it with ample light from towering plate-glass windows, but also a few flat-screen TVs above the bar so you can see a match while listening to moody DJ fare. Imports don't come cheap in Bangkok; expect 220-300 per beer. Smart drinkers will get here between 5:30 and 7:30 for the 2-for-1 happy hour.
