• Susie, one of the better pubs on Khao San, is a great spot to meet backpackers and locals in a relaxed and friendly setting. One of the first places in the area with an American-style bar full of weird and wonderful gear hanging off the walls, there is also a busy pool table and good music spanning Brit-pop through to alternative, reggae and funk. Arrive early if you want a table to sample the Western and Thai food, as most customers end up standing, sampling the wide range of spirits on offer.
