- Once just a little open-air hole in the wall with some big-screen TVs, The Sport Corner opened a sizeable addition next door with air-conditioning, a pool table, and some stylish back-bar lighting. The original side has its street-bar charm while the indoor portion is relief on a sweltering day. Sports bars in Bangkok primarily focus on cricket and football (soccer). Those matches can be seen here as well, but this is the oasis for American football (NFL), baseball, NHL hockey, NBA basketball and US collegiate games. Screens are plentiful and the weekly schedule of mostly replayed games is posted online. Occasional big events such as the Super Bowl might see the bar opening at 5 a.m. for a live broadcast. Beer is cheap during happy hour (4-7) and the menu offers American-style pizza and appetizers and a few Thai dishes. Benches and tables line the road out front and are usually occupied by bar girls.
