  • Bangkok is a city of serious nightlife. From cheap bars to high-end classy clubs, this city has got you covered. If you are feeling a little hi-so (high society) check out these top ten upscale Bangkok bars. Remember, these are the classy joints so you won't likely be able to get in with shorts, t-shirts and flip flops. Dress to impress and be sure to pack your plastic.

    Now firmly established as one of the top clubs -- and one of the longest surviving clubs -- is Q Bar. This New York-style nightclub packs in the pretty people with great ambiance and the best DJs. As it is in Sukhumvit Soi 11, it is also conveniently located next to another legendary hangout, Bed Supperclub. Some visitors compare it to being inside a giant iPod. For a drink with a stellar view, head up to Sirocco on the 63rd floor of State Tower. The sky bar will leave you breathless. Also aiming for the sky it Vertigo Grill's Moon Bar on top of the Banyan Tree Hotel. The view isn't quite that of Sirocco but the bar area is better suited for loitering. Red Sky does pretty well itself high in the sky and V9, which offers the view but keeps you inside the bubble of air-conditioned comfort, has a great wine selection.

    Back down to earth -- and wine -- is Niu's, not far from V9, where the jazz is the biggest attraction. Thai clubs such as 808 or Baroque really pack in the local hi-so crowd, an experience in itself. For some pricey style with superb cocktails and gourmet food in a recreated Thai home, pay a visit to Face.
