When staying in Bangkok, a city of such a rush of people and constant growing concrete and skyline, it is nice to stay at a place that is near some of the green space. One of the city's most popular parks is Lumphini Park, a gathering place for evening strolls, concerts or even group exercise. Here is a list of the Top Ten Places to Stay near Lumphini Park.
Depending on how far you want to walk (or take a taxi or tuk tuk), these hotels all fit the bill for being in the Lumphini Park neighborhood. The venerable Dusit Thani sits right across Rama IV Road from the park with a pedestrian tunnel that can take you there. Not much farther away is the Crowne Plaza Lumphini Park, also on Rama IV and for the lower budget, the Montien. Slip down Silom Road for a longer walk at the chic Sofitel. Hostelers or those who just want low-budget private rooms that don't sacrifice a bit of style and comfort, should check out Lub D Silom. Or come another direction from the more expensive Metropolitan, Banyan Tree or Sukhothai on Sathorn Road. If you prefer something a bit closer to Sukhumvit Road, then consider the Conrad on Wireless (Witthayu) Road.
