  • The Best of NileGuide
  • Bangkok traffic is notorious and at some point the concrete and steel can leave a traveler begging for green space. But fear not, Bangkok has the breath of fresh air you're searching for. NileGuide has gathered the Best Bangkok Outdoor Activities for you to get you out and about, catching some sun and air. The level of effort, of course, depends.

Thailand heat can be a bit much for some, and in that case finding something to do outdoors might be as simple as a walk in the park. The city has several nice public parks including the centrally located and easily reached Benjasiri Park and the expansive Lumphini Park, near the start of Silom Road. Both are right off the Skytrain line. Lumphini offers paddleboats and walking paths, while Benjasiri has more sporting spaces such as a peripheral road that functions nicely as a running path. Rama IX park presents another option a bit farther off the beaten path.

Heading just outside of the city is the lovely coastal birding hotpot, Bang Pu Nature Park, and a bit further out are the palace grounds at Bang Pa-in. For a serious trip of a day or two, Khao Yai National Park shouldn't be missed. If you can't get so far, you may still see elephants and other animals at Safari World. If you are looking for something with more of a rush of adrenaline, check in with Wild Planet. Otherwise, see Bangkok on two wheels when you join a bike tour of the hidden places.
