  • It doesn't take long for the average person to get tired of either too many museums or the endless supply of temples in Bangkok. While the air-conditioning sometimes feels like an answer to a prayer, you shouldn't be shy about getting out there and doing the outdoorsy thing. Here are ten of the best outdoor activities in Bangkok.

Probably the most impressive is a bit of a drive: Khao Yai National Park, where you can still find wild elephants and enjoy a cooler altitude. For nature lovers not prepared for the distance, just head to the edge of the city and check out the seashore Bang Pu Nature Park. Parks inside town include lovely Benjasiri Park, right next to the Skytrain, and Lumphini, Bangkok's closest thing to Central Park. Both often have large group exercises or tai chi from time to time. Getting on a bike to explore the city is always rewarding as is a ride on one of the canals. And in the evening, get under the stars -- you can still see some actually -- and hang out at a big beer garden at Siam Paradise Night Bazaar.
