comfortably in a guesthouse on a modest budget. Since many hotels
are often fully booked during the peak season from November to
March, it is recommended that visitors make advance reservations if
they plan to visit during this time. Prices for accommodations are
lower than in Hong Kong and Singapore and inexpensive by Western
standards, particularly because of the depreciation of the Thai
currency following the Asian economic crisis of 1997.
