Huay Kwang
Most travelers might initially see this district as devoid of history and primarily industrial. But a closer look reveals a plethora of theaters, bars, clubs and shopping centers.
Huay Kwang Market, at the Huay Kwang MRT stop, is a hopping night market reaching its peak in the wee hours of the morning. Vendors line various streets and food options are numerous even on toward sunrise. Drawn by cheap housing, many university students live in the area and the area definitely caters to night owls.
While Huay Kwang is also a good place to see a Thai cultural show with dinner in the evening, it is perhaps best known for live music and clubbing. Look in and around Royal City Avenue, known by all as RCA. This street hosts a variety of top bars attracting the university crowd, and music appeals to a variety of tastes, especially rock, techno and pop, both Thai and foreign.
