• When a restaurant has only one item on the menu, you know it must be good at it. While Boon Tong Kiat does actually have a number of other items, all pictured on the walls and easy to point to when ordering, the sign outside really narrows it all down to the specialty. The whole point of this place is its delectable Singapore chicken rice. The Thai know this as khao mun gai although the Singapore version of the rice is a bit oilier and offers some seasoning, primarily ginger. The chicken is boiled and tender, without the skin, and sliced over the rice. Other Singapore items are on the menu. Service is fast so Boon Tong Kiat makes a good lunch joint.
