• If you want to keep partying after 2a - when most Bangkok bars close - head for Khao San Road. One of its best 24-hour drinking establishments is Lucky Beer (also a hostel), whose tables spread across the street as the night progresses. The inexpensive menu offers Thai and Western favorites. Drinks include beer, spirits and cocktails, but the most popular is Thai whiskey. The place attracts a lively crowd of backpackers and Thais grooving away to the Euro trance music. There is an air-conditioned section out back, which, while cool, cuts you off from the crazy street atmosphere somewhat.
