You won't be able to fault this small, hole-in-the wall diner that has existed for several decades, thanks to the affable and effervescent owner, Mrs. (Vinder) Balbir, whose jolly banter accompanies any lunch or supper. The menu covers all sorts of Punjabi goodies such as biryani, dahl, chicken tikka masala, and deliciously smooth cheese and spinach dishes. All of Mrs. Balbir's food comes with homemade pickled onions and chutneys. Dine on tables downstairs or sit on the floor cushions upstairs. As famous for being a TV chef as much as a restaurateur, Mrs. Balbir also runs highly enjoyable cooking classes from her home close by.
