• Just around the corner on the left hand side of Soi Sanam Khli is Polo Fried Chicken, a small, air-conditioned restaurant that is packed at lunchtimes and in the evenings. The furnishings here are functional rather than elegant, since people come for the food. The menu is not extensive - the house specialty is the whole or half crispy fried chickens covered in crunchy garlic shavings. Order this with sticky rice and one of the several varieties of som tom (papaya salads) that are available. Alternatives include tom yum soup and fish cakes or fried fish. Drinks include local beers, water and sodas. Everything is very reasonably priced.
