Rung Reung

• Known best by locals and some savvy Japanese and Chinese travelers, Rung Reung is a very popular noodle shop occupying two side-by-side open-air buildings just off Sukhumvit Road. At peak times staff operate as an assembly line near the sidewalk as they fill orders for six different kinds of noodles (including ramen-style, glass, rice noodles and a special giamee noodle). Crispy pork and fish skin and a few local iced drinks are also served. Customers fill up the tables which spill onto the walk, while clients on the go might pull up in cars and wait for carry-out orders in plastic bags. Peanut allergy people need to be careful as the non-soup mix at least has crumbled nuts. There is no sign in English so see the photos for this listing or simply head one block away from Sukhumvit on Soi 26 and Rung Reung occupies the two places at the first corner on the right.
