    • One of the great temples in Bangkok on Ratanakosin island, five minutes by foot away from Emerald Buddha Temple. Wat Pho is the oldest temple on the eastern side of Bangkok, and it predates the Emerald Buddha temple. The attraction of this temple is the chapel with the reclining Buddha image. The temple is best visited in the late afternoon hours as soon as the masses of visitors have withered away. The beauty of the place and the serenity of the inner courts is really touching. In the back of the temple a Thai massage school is located and lessons are given here. Examples of massage can be experienced here.
