Description:
- Charoen Krung is one of the oldest roads in Bangkok and many of the businesses and buildings reflect this. The stretch from Saphan Taksin to the General Post Office is a predominantly Chinese area where a few traditional open fronted shops remain, but most have been revamped with air conditioning. There is a mix of businesses including tailors, dispensaries, dried goods, antiques and pawnbrokers, but the area is best known for the many wholesale and retail jewelers. A stamp market is held outside the GPO on Sundays. Be sure to have an idea of prices before purchasing.
