• Cool off from the heat of Bangkok at the indoor ice rink in the Esplanade shopping center. This is an excellent alternative if the children are tired of shopping and temples. The rink is not huge, but there is plenty of room for beginners to glide along the outer rink while the more able skaters spin, jump or twist around in the center. Lessons are reasonably priced, and there are teachers for both freestyle and ice hockey. Skates and socks are available for rent if you turn up in your flip flops.
