Wat Indravihara

Description:

  • This impressive temple is known for its gigantic standing Buddha statue, otherwise known as "Luang Pho To" or "The Big Reverend Father". The statue, with an alms bowl in its hands, is 32 meters tall and 10 meters wide, and was built during the reign of King Rama IV between 1851 and 1868. The topknot of the statue contains a relic of Lord Buddha, which was brought in from Sri Lanka.
