Public Question Asked by Ridzal Zainal about Bangkok
Hi, I'm looking for a place to stay in Bangkok, and also looking to purchase a set of jerseys for my football team.
A friend of mine who has been there, pointed me to this place near the Stadium where they specialize in jersey printing etc. Problem is, he can't remember the name of the places, as they are all in thai.
I have been recommended the Diamond City Hotel to stay in, as its quite near(walking distance, i hear) to the jersey printing shops.
Any help with that? Thanks in advance.

Hi. I think you can get all sorts of jerseys at Chatuchak weekend market. Located near Mo Chit skytrain station/Chatuchak underground. Great place to shop. Remember, bargain.. bargain.. bargain.. Happy shopping!!
Answered by Hugo Zimmermann , Sattahip, Thailand
Living in Singapore you shouldn't be too weary about Bangkok. Hotel today no problems (all are half empty),
depending upon budget. Right now you will find very good rates.
Chatuchak (weekend) market is a good idea (very big to find
the right stuff)
Another try is the LUMPINI NIGHT BAZAR on Rama IV Rd from
dark till late night; and YES ... bargain, bargain, bargain
up to 50%

Rajamangala National Stadium (Thai: สนามราชมังคลากีฬาสถาน).
Visitors should take care not to confuse Rajamangala with the BTS Skytrain station also called 'National Stadium', which is adjacent Suphachalasai National Stadium. Rajamangala is not accessible by Skytrain or MRT train.
However, as it is located next to Ramkhamhaeng University, BMTA buses frequently run routes past the stadium.
(Attached the link that yr hotel is located near the National Stadium)

Your friend was right, jerseys especially for a team or bulk screen orders can be found nearby National Stadium. The Stadium is closed to MBK shopping mall, BTS station "National Stadium". This area just located on Siam Square. Once you get off you will see the stadium from station, go there thru the alleys walk for a while you may find it. It used to be many shops for FB team clothes, but I am not sure how many are remained nowadays.
For accommodation, depends on your budget. You may find on plenty websites and then book. Tourist areas are Silom, Sukumvit, Siam. Kaosarn is famous backpacker area and closed to historical sites, Grand Palace, temples, and river bank.

You need to be in Pratunam district. Diamond City Hotel is one of the many. Bayoke tower, Amari Watergate, East-Inn etc etc are all close to this "textiles district". You will find here many shops selling jerseys but also textile printing service.

-the first area is National Stadium
easy to reach by the skytrain (BTS)
-the other area is Huamark Sport Statium

I think the friend refers to is Banthat Thong area. It is very close to National Stadium. There are a few shops around, and you can order and have printed done according to your design. They located from the corner between Banthat Thong and Rama 1 Road. You can walk and check out a few places around there from Chula Soi 2 - Chula Soi 4, Chula Soi 5 and 6.
If you want budget hotel around there, Reno Hotel in Soi Kasemsan 1 is good for it's location. Near BTS, MBK and Siam area. Convenience is the best description for this place....
Have fun shopping !!!
Answered by a Localyte , Bangkok, Thailand
I am not sure which Stadium you are referring to but I assume The National Statium "Suphachalasai Stadium" since the Diamond city hotel is near by.
Pathumwan Princess Hotel : would have been the ideal since the hotel exit is MBK Hall. Imposssible to get lost there.
Siam@Siam Design Hotel & Spa : easy access to BTS station at National Stadium
Novotel Siam Square : easy access to Royal Bangkok Sport Club (RBSC), National Stadium, Boxing Stadium, Cinema, Shopping.

are you confused already? Guess that the many recommended places do not make it easier for you to find the right place. Just pick one, they will all suit you. I would try prathumwan, near the Bayoke Hotel (Tower 2). I stayed there a few years ago, it is the tallest building in Bangkok, hard to miss. Nice to have breakfast on the 74th floor, the rooms are ok. Prathumwan market is around the corner.
What you can also do: if you work for a big company that has a branch in Bangkok (or if you know somebody working for one), try to get in contact with the marketing department. They have contacts already and you might get a better deal using their connections.
Please make sure you check some different offers, the prices may vary a lot.
Best regards and good luck

I can't help you out with jersey printing I am more of a fashionista and jeresys never come into that picture.
however if your trip isn't all business and you want some fun. you should rent a room on Kao San Rd. the rates are in your budget and there is so much to see during the day or night. lots of shopping and I'm sure if you ask around you might get put on the right path, most of the vendors down there speak english as it is very touristy. my friends and I call it "channel KS".
Answered by Ridzal Zainal , Singapore City, Singapore
a million thanks to everybody who bothered to answer me question. now, i'll have a clearer picture of the place and have more options when it comes to accomodation etc.
my original plan was to go there and "ask around".
two thumbs up to this great site and its members. =)

You can also ask the smaller store keepers in MBK and they may have personal friends or connections for the jersey makers/printers in the area. Please bargin your price as this can differ greatly.
Happy visit to you.

The silkscreen shop behind the stadium is probably the best suggestion. It has been several years since I was there and I also don't know the name. However, the street vendors at MBK should be able to direct you to it, as it is less than a Km away. Don't worry, there are silkscreen shops in most cities where you can get this work done within a day or two. If you go to a different town, ask the local (amphur) office of business and tourism.

Chatuchak market is the best way to go for bargain shopping but i have to warn you that it's only open on weekends.Prattunam Rd. is also another place to go, and i believe they also have lots of jerseys around.
As to where you wanna stay,i would say Khao Sarn Road is the street to go.there are so many small budget hotels, even backpackers lodging places.
good luck and enjoy Thaiand!

Try " Grand Sport", the most expert for footballs shirt- team wear. According to my experienced they are very reliable too. If you start at Mahboonkrong Shopping Center, Siam Square Intersection; which is adjecant to the National Stadium...walk pass the stadium and you will find the "Grand Sport" shop. Minimum order 30 pcs. or 30 sets They can providing you the silk screen or embroidery services at low price too. Here is their website which you can find all of the informations which is self-explanatory.
The resonable hotel which is just the walking distance to the shop is the Twin Tower Hotel. You may make the advance booking through the travel agency from your country with the discount rate and ABF. Here is also the website:-
Don't forget to bring the sample of your team's logo along ! Good Luck and welcome to Thailand.

The Diamond City Hotel is in the right area, near the National Stadium and the MBK shopping centre. You also have the BTS there for getting about the city quite easily.

Hi, my trips to bangkok are super enjoyable. My sister and I stayed in two hotels there, I enjoyed our stay more at Baiyoke suite hotel, very cheap but with great buffet breakfast daily at the rooftop of their hotel. You can catch a great view of the city up there.
I highly recommend you stay in this hotel.
