Just go Kao Sarn Road, there is plenty of entertainments as you wish and cheapest hostel...also food.....you will get what you pay for....so dont expect much if you pay cheap:)

There are many cheap guesthouse in Bangkok, Pattaya, Chiang mai and Phuket.
if BKK, Khaosarn rd. is the best!
Phuket, Patong beach and Phuket city are fine!
the other places, I don t know hahaha

If you are in Bangkok then Khao San Road is the best choice for backpacker areas. If you go to Koh Samui I suggest staying in Lamai beach and not chewang as it is calmer and has great bars also. I just picked those two places as they are a favorite of backpackers, if you are heading somewhere else let me know and i can help.

If you are in Bangkok or come to Khao San road, check out the party "Khao San road club crawl", it is cheap, and you get to meet lots of other ppl and see some of khao sans best bars. check it out on www.khaosanroad.com

The best and most popular place in Bangkok is Khao San Road.
Very vibrant with all different nationalities and predominately backpackers and students. This place is highly recommended.

Andy. Good morning. The place for you is Banglamphu, Khosan road a, Rambutri rd. and surrounding Soi.s [streets].Here is the international backpacker area for cheap accomodation and trip planning, you can meet and find info for your intended destination. hotels guest houses are in abundance.

in Bangkok u can go to Kao Sarn road it's very cheap and lots of food and u will meet the people around the world,
but if u mean another province except Bangkok, i suggest Pataya where is the beach lots of foreiengr and seafood ,,enjoy

In bangkok Kow san road.....In Chang Mai Tha phra gate on the the old moat.....In the south Koh Phagn yang or Koh PP..south and the beaches more expensive than the north and central areas....for entertainment ask people when you get great way to meet new friends....have fun

In the BKK area, you will find lots of cheap accommodations and cool hangout places at Khao San Road area. Absolutely fab. If you lokking for an island, I would say Koh Tao, which is really cool as well. If you are not a diver, I highly recommend to become one, and at Koh Tao you have the cheapest package prices for acc/diving !!! have fun ! And you dont have to book in advanced. Just walk around and many will offer cheap prices alrady on the pier at Koh Tao. same in BKK. Just strolling down khao San Rd, and you will find them !

I agree with Gee, Asha Guesthouse in Saphan Kwai, its near enough to everything and the rooms are on offer at the moment 250 thb a night. Kao San road is very busy and noisey and full of street vendors, not the most relaxing place after a couple of days of fighting your way down the street you'll get fed up with it. Saphan Kwai has its share of bars and entertainment and Victory Monument is only a couple of stops awa by Skytrain. If you wanted to go out on Kao San Rd its only 80 thb in a taxi from Asha Guesthouse. Check the web link on Gee's answer I've been here nearly 3 months on and off and wouldn't stay anywhere else.

I would have a look at Khao San Road, Busy place, with travelers from all over the world. Sukkhumvit is good for shopping, clubbing and dining.
