Bangkok for Kids

Description:

Let’s be honest, the first thing that comes to mind when you hear Bangkok is not “family travel with kids.” But the fact of the matter is there are myriad places to entertain the little ones from water parks to zoos and aquariums.

Day 1 - Bangkok

Head to the zoo first thing in the morning before the heat of the day gets going. Then in the afternoon you can enjoy the air-conditioned museum. This is located next to the Chatuchak Market where you might get some trinket shopping in or hunt for snacks. This is reachable by SkyTrain at the Mor Chit station. Though much of the signage is in both English and Thai, be aware that the museum is geared toward Thai children and the recorded bits are in Thai.

Day 2 - Bangkok

This is a whole day event so pack the sunscreen and water. Go early like around 9 or 10 so you can be sure to see all the scheduled animal activities. A rental car is a good idea for seeing the animals in the safari portion of the park, but the park also has its own coach and English guides can be requested.

Day 3 - Bangkok

Start with crocodiles in the morning. The heat can sometimes leave a smell hanging over the place, but usually the excitement of seeing these animals is enough. If not, head over to the Ancient City nearby and explore all of the major sites in Thailand done on a smaller scale. For the afternoon get in a round of bowling in the comfort of air-conditioning.
