    Our Local Expert Says:

The Dream is best for the young, chic, urban traveler. From the lobby to the rooms, the lighting and décor truly are "dreamy". If you're into Salsa, the hotel's Flava Lounge is great on Saturday nights.

    Description:

Dream Hotel has garnered a reputation as being one of the cooler, slightly upscale boutique properties in Bangkok. While this is not the level of fancy of a Mandarin Oriental, it is indeed elegant and guests can expect a very high level of service. The rooms are spacious and well appointed and staff are well trained and friendly. There is a restaurant onsite, the Maple Leaf, though the offerings of Sukhumvit Road are also close by. The hotel has a fitness center complete with a trainer. Head up to the rooftop to chill in the pool or garden. Dream Hotel is a good way to do Bangkok in style.

Don't miss the opportunity to take a dinner cruise on the hotel's luxury yacht. Seeing the lit skyline from the Chao Praya river is quite the sight.

    Description:

One of Thailand's most renowned and prestigious hotels, the Shangri-La has been consistently voted one of the best hotels in the world. Located in beautiful tropical gardens on the banks of the Chao Phraya River, the Saphan Taksin Skytrain station is right next door. If you really want to feel pampered, this is the hotel to stay in. It is also the largest of Bangkok's fine hotels as you can drive a tuk-tuk from one wing to the other. The Shangri-la has a number of fine eateries, especially its Italian restaurant, Angelini's.

    Description:

Here is the classic historical hotel of the Eastern world. The Mandarin Oriental sits alongside the Chao Phraya River where it has served guests for over 130 years. Check in at the Author's Wing where all suites look to the water and are named after famous literary guests who have stayed here. But there is also a more modern high-rise wing. The hotel shows exquisite class in its decor and the rooms have an old school charm with the touches of modern amenities, such as the flat-screen TVs and high-speed Internet connections. All of The Oriental's 393 rooms and suites offer river views. Conference facilities are also popular and fine dining is recommended on site. Not far away, however, is the down-to-earth of century-old Thai neighborhoods and local food. Expect at least a half hour trip from the airport. The BTS Skytrain Saphan Taksin station is at a walkable distance and the river ferries can take you to other touristic points up river.
