Description:
Here is the classic historical hotel of the Eastern world. The Mandarin Oriental sits alongside the Chao Phraya River where it has served guests for over 130 years. Check in at the Author's Wing where all suites look to the water and are named after famous literary guests who have stayed here. But there is also a more modern high-rise wing. The hotel shows exquisite class in its decor and the rooms have an old school charm with the touches of modern amenities, such as the flat-screen TVs and high-speed Internet connections. All of The Oriental's 393 rooms and suites offer river views. Conference facilities are also popular and fine dining is recommended on site. Not far away, however, is the down-to-earth of century-old Thai neighborhoods and local food. Expect at least a half hour trip from the airport. The BTS Skytrain Saphan Taksin station is at a walkable distance and the river ferries can take you to other touristic points up river.

The Dream is best for the young, chic, urban traveler. From the lobby to the rooms, the lighting and décor truly are "dreamy". If you're into Salsa, the hotel's Flava Lounge is great on Saturday nights.
Description:
Dream Hotel has garnered a reputation as being one of the cooler, slightly upscale boutique properties in Bangkok. While this is not the level of fancy of a Mandarin Oriental, it is indeed elegant and guests can expect a very high level of service. The rooms are spacious and well appointed and staff are well trained and friendly. There is a restaurant onsite, the Maple Leaf, though the offerings of Sukhumvit Road are also close by. The hotel has a fitness center complete with a trainer. Head up to the rooftop to chill in the pool or garden. Dream Hotel is a good way to do Bangkok in style.

Across the street from the beginning of the Sukhumvit Night Market, a 3 minute walk from bustling Nana, steps away from countless bars, and easy access to the skytrain, place the JW Marriott in one of the city's best locations.
Description:
The J.W. Marriott is well connected to the downtown area. The aim is to attract business clientele but families and couples will do nicely here as well. Rooms show plush interiors and offer a variety of amenities including Internet connection and large flat screen TVs. Suites are impressively spacious. Service is what one would expect from a five-star property. The restaurants are tops in their cuisine including the Chinese outlet famous for its dim-sum brunch. In the lower level there are two Japanese restaurants, Tsu and Nami, which specialize in either sushi or grilled fare. Also, there is a New York steakhouse, Thai food and more Western fare at a buffet. The hotel is a short walk from the BTS Skytrain either at Nana or Asok stations.

Description:
This 28-story hotel on the Chao Phraya is more oriented to tour groups, but it also has numerous facilities for business travelers. All of the rooms face the river, but the standard rooms are not very spacious. The decor of the lobby is pleasant, and tastefully decorated with the flowers that give the hotel its name. Because it is competing with so many top hotels on the riverside, it is sometimes not mentioned with the elite, but it is still very good and its food and beverage outlets are excellent.

Description:
Staying here, you will feel like you are reliving a scene from a James Bond movie. The Peninsula simply has more electronic gadgetry than any other major hotel, calling it "guest comfort technology". The problem with the hotel is that it suffers from poor location, being on the other side of the Chao Phraya River, where tourist traffic is low. This can, however, make it easier to get a better rate. A boat shuttle takes you to and from the main part of town, and for the most part it lives up to its storied name.
