Cerveteca (La)

Description:

  • Though the capital of cosmopolitan Spain, Barcelona, like most of the country, remains a city wedded to the grape, and ale and lager drinkers have long suffered from the lack of beer culture. This is slowly changing, largely due to the efforts of three friends who share a love of beer and a desire to spread the word on the world's oldest beverage. Started in 2006, La Cerveteca is far from your standard bottle shop. In addition to an impressive selection of international craft beers, they provide proper glassware for on-site consumption as well as three rotating taps from Hoepfner, a German microbrewery. Serious about their beer, the owners also offer informative classes on Saturdays, which in the near future will expand into home brewing.
