  • Barcelona has one of the most thriving gay and lesbian scenes in Europe, with almost an entire neighborhood being coined the 'gayeixample', due to the overwhelming number of bars and clubs lining the area (Eixample Neighborhood). Although gay bars and clubs outnumber lesbian ones by about 4 to 1, there's still a variety of options for those wanting to check out the gay scene in Barcelona.

    Our number one pick has more than four clubs around Barcelona and is probably the most popular venue for gays, lesbians and even straight people looking to dance to top 40! Their locations are spread out, mainly around the Eixample neighborhood, with the one on c/Balmes being the biggest and most lesbian friendly.

    Not far from Arena, yet slightly more hard core gay (not at all lesbian), is our number five pick, Metro. If you're looking for a good time and most likely want to take someone home, then Metro's a great choice. Situated underground in a cavern like setting with exposed brick and medieval archways, Metro is small in comparison to a club like Dboy (number two pick), but it plays fun music and has reasonably priced drinks.

    If you're looking for the 'bears' then search no further than Martin's club. Our number seven pick is for bears only. If you're into small rooms, dark spaces and big, bald men, Martin's is the place to be!
