Ice Cream in Barcelona

  • Although Barcelona can't compete with Italy when it comes to ice cream and gelato, it does have quite a wide variety of sweet shops, many of which are open until the late hours of the night. Check out the Born and Gotico especially for some of the most delicious ice cream parlors in the city.

    Our number one pick is in the heart of the Old City, on c/Avinyo. Belgious, is known not only for it's ice cream but for its crepes, waffles and delicious, fresh squeezed fruit juice.

    If you're in the 'posher' area of Barcelona and craving an ice cream, check out our number four pick. Gelateria Caffeteria Italiana boasts authentic Italian gelato. They have a wide range of flavours, including chocolate and seasonal fruit.

    Head back into the old city on one of Barcelona's most exciting streets, Petritxol and our number six pick is a dessert lovers' haven. Dulcinea has the popular Crema Catalana, amongst hot buns, cupcakes and warm, delicious desserts. This is definitely a place worth checking out and easily to get to, if you're near the center of town.
