Barcelona has a diverse, eclectic and incredible live music scene. Whether you feel like clubbing, lounging or seeing a live concert, there are plenty of options throughout the city on a nightly basis to keep yourself entertained. Many clubs combine a mix of live music to start the evening, around 10 or 11pm and then switch into dj mode, from 12am onwards. So you can often get in free, listen to your favourite band and enjoy the rest of the night in the same club.
Our number two pick for great live music in Barcelona, is Sala Apolo. This is one of Barcelona's most popular music venues, featuring well known bands and great dj's. There's always an exciting line up of concerts on a monthly basis at Apolo and usually reasonably priced. On weekends this is one of the hottest clubs in town, definitely worth checking out. It caters to a younger crowd, but when there are concerts the clientele is quite mixed.
Head into Plaza Reial right off of La Rambla and you'll stumble upon our number five pick, Jamboree. Featuring live jazz in their small, rustic bar, this is an excellent way to start the evening in one of Barcelona's liveliest neighborhoods. You can either stick around and wait for the dj to come on after 12 or head back out and check out one of the many surrounding bars or clubs in the Plaza or just around the corner.
If you're into jazz then our number seven pick is ideal. Harlem Jazz Club, is small, local and one of the best places to listen to live jazz, blues, tango and even African beats. There are only a few places to sit, but after the set is over the tables are cleared turning the lounge into a dance floor.
