Barcelona boasts a large number of Mediterranean style restaurants all around the city. Ranging from upscale and more elaborate to unpretentious and affordable, there are a large number of delicious restaurants if you're looking for a healthy, hearty meal.
Our number one pick is a Barcelona classic and favourite. Montiel, located in the Born right off of c/Princessa is quaint, charming, romantic and down right amazing. Known for their fresh fish, they also have a large tapas and meat selection. This is a small, two story restaurant on one of the Born's side streets and will give you a genuine feel for how incredible Barcelona's culinary scene truly is.
On the other side of the Old City, hidden in Plaza Sant Jus in the Gotico, is our number seven pick, Cafe L'Academia. Trendy and elegantly designed, this is an excellent place for a nicer dinner, especially between couples or amongst close friends.
And if you want delicious food, but don't want to spend too much, our number nine pick is the sister restaurant to the well known, Pla. Re-Pla, established for those wanting high quality food at more affordable prices, is the perfect choice for a casual evening out in the Old City.
