New, exciting and diverse restaurants are constantly springing up in Barcelona and it's often hard to keep track of the latest openings. A very popular past-time in Barcelona is the restaurant 'facelift' where older establishments shut down for a few weeks and completely re-design their look and feel, giving the menu a revamp and upgrading the overall vibe of their restaurants.
Our number one pick for Barcelona's latest restaurants is La Chacha. If you're into steak, this is your haven. Argentinean style asado, Chacha prides itself on perfecting the juiciest piece of poco hecho (bloody rare) chorizo, complete with tasty empanadas, mixed salad and the perfect Malbec to top it off. Centered in the Born, Chacha is quaint, relaxed and off the beaten path.
Heading further into the city, up Paseo de Gracia, Tapas 24 is and has always been one of Barcelona's most well known tapas bars. Recently having revamped their menu, this small, tapas style restaurant serves excellent cava sangria and has a wide variety of both greasy and more upscale tapas. It's always packed and they don't take reservations, so this is one of those places you have to hit up before dinner time (anywhere before 9pm).
Take a stroll down to the beach and check out our number ten pick, Bestial. Half bar, half dining this Italian and Mediterranean style restaurant, is a great place for dinner and drinks afterwards, as there's often live music especially during the weekends.
