Undoubtedly one of the most exciting places to go out in Barcelona is the Eixample neighborhood. A quick walk from plaza Catalunya, the Eixample is packed with bars catering to all tastes. Whether you're in the mood for elegantly casual cocktails, a chic wine and cheese bar or an unpretentious Barcelona 'dive', the Eixample has an incredible variety of options. Also coined as the 'geixample', there are a large number of gay and lesbian bars and clubs in this area of town, all of which are open to everyone.
If you're in the mood for heavy metal and Bon Jovi's greatest hits, then our number one pick is your best bet. Alfa Club is sheer fun! Rustic, small and sticky this club is a five minute walk up from Plaza Catalunya and will keep you dancing until it closes around 5am.
Not far from Alfa Club, just around the corner from Plaza Catalunya is our number four pick, City Hall. If you're not sure where to take the evening, City Hall is always a sure thing. Featuring new dj's weekly, this two story club has an outdoor terrace, so when you're tired of dancing you can curl up on one of the outdoor couches and wait until the rest of your crew is ready to go home.
Slightly on the posher side and further up from Plaza Catalunya and the Eixample is our number eight pick, Cafe Noir. Spacious and dimly lit, Cafe Noir boasts a state of the art sound system ideal for parties and for hosting special venues. This is ideal if you're looking to put on an event as it's equipped with a stage, dj booth and projector.
