Barcelona's Ciutat Vella (old city) is one of the most romantic barrios in which to have a meal. With restaurants, tapas joints and bars lining the narrow, cobblestone streets, there's infinite options from which to choose.
Our number three pick for Barcelona's latest restaurants in the old city, is a personal favourite. Montiel's food, ambiance and overall, relaxed yet elegant atmosphere is hard to match. Featuring Spanish and Mediterranean dishes, their food is always fresh and the service impeccable.
Heading slightly higher up, on the main street, Via Laietana, our number five pick is for Mexican lovers. If you're into Mexican food and want to have a fun night out in an affordable and lively place, check out Rosa Negra.
If you walk down towards the metro and take left into the Born, you'll find one of the best Argentinean restaurants in the city. La Chacha prides itself on serving authentic Argentinean beef, wines and plenty of other delicious Argentinean dishes. This is an excellent choice for dinner or enjoy their lunch menu for only 10 euros.
