Now that Barcelona's banned smoking from bars and restaurants, it's much easier to choose a kid-friendly place in which to dine. Throughout the city, Barcelona has tons of family friendly eateries, equipped with delicious food, good service and a relaxed ambiance. As the average dinner time starts around 9:30pm, it's sometimes hard to find places open earlier for the young ones. There is however, a good selection of restaurants, perfect for children as well as parents.
Our number one pick for Barcelona's most kid friendly restaurant, has several locations throughout the city. La Botiga serves a variety of tapas, entrees and desserts at affordable prices in an inviting atmosphere. It's a good way to introduce youngsters to Spanish tapas, while infusing a bit of 'North American' food into the mix at the same time.
Located on one of the main streets, if you're into Mexican food then our number five pick is for you. Rosa Negra is a lively, family fun restaurant serving a wide variety of Mexican and Mediterranean dishes which children love. The colourful, eclectic decor is the ideal setting for a family.
Our number nine pick isn't exactly a restaurant, however it provides a nice alternative to sitting inside on a sunny day. Wok to Walk is one of Barcelona's favourite take out joints. This is a great place to order meat or vegetarian stir fry, pack a small picnic bag and have lunch or dinner on the beach. It's cheap, tasty and a great way to switch things up during the day.
