Top 10:

Barcelona Biking

  • The Best of NileGuide
  • Barcelona is one of the best cities to get around on a bike. The city is slowly adapting to include bike lanes on main roads and along the boardwalks as not to interfere with pedestrians and cars. Barcelona also has its very convenient 'Bicing' system where locals who have signed up can use a bike and drop it off at one of the many locations around town. For those visiting the city, Barcelona is full of bike shops where you can rent or even buy a bike at affordable prices and many of them also give bike tours, which is an excellent way to get acquainted with Barcelona's major highlights and landmarks in a short period of time. Our number one pick is a small, boutique bike shop in the Gotico. Green Bikes is personable, friendly and they pride themselves on having comfortable, quality bikes both new and used. If you feel like venturing slightly outside of the city our number four pick is a great way to explore Barcelona's mountains. If you're into mountain biking (not particularly strenuous) then this is a fun alternative for a day excursion. Head towards the water and our number eight pick is ideal for short and relaxing bike excursions. Barceloneta beach has a separate path for bikes and plenty of chiringuitos along the way where you can stop, rest and have a few cocktails before continuing to the next beach.
