Barcelona's incredible weather provides for the ideal setting in which to indulge outdoors and enjoy a wide variety of activities all year round. Not only is this a city in which you can pretty much walk anywhere (within reason), but Barcelona's designed so that people can thrive outside. Most restaurants have patios and terraces, hotels have rooftop pools and above all, it's a city situated between the mountains and the beach, so on a warm spring day you can ski in the morning Pyrenees and have a mojito at a beach side chiringuito in the afternoon.
Our number three pick for the best outdoor activity in Barcelona, is a half day bike tour. There's plenty of different companies to do this with, or even just rent a bike on your own and take a ride around the city. Biking is probably the best way to take in most of Barcelona's monuments and highlights in a short period of time and a great way to get a 'lay of the land' and a genuine feel for the city's most renowned structures.
Our number seven pick is a great day trip and a fun ride on the funicular up to Tibidabo mountain. This is an ideal place, especially in the summer where there's rides, gardens, parks and a few great clubs to check out at night.
If you feel like relaxing in a beautiful botanical garden, then our number nine pick is for you. Situated atop Montjuic, the garden features a wide variety of plants and flowers from around the world and is a great place to relax outside, enjoy the sun and take in the spectacular city views of Barcelona.
