This government-rated two-star hotel, a former apartment building now owned and operated by the Spanish hotel chain HUSA, has a Castilian facade with a wealth of Art Nouveau detailing on the interior. Filled with antiques and quirky trinkets, it's one of the most atmospheric spots to stay in town. It's also handily located close to the hip secondhand stores and record shops of the upper Raval, the MACBA, and the CCCB. The midsize rooms are comfortable -- beds have ornate Catalan-style headboards -- and some open onto large terraces. The tiled bathrooms are equipped with tub/shower combos.
