Cafe de la Opera

Description:

  • The city's most famous cafĂ© opened opposite the Gran Teatre del Liceu (Opera House) in 1929 and has become a landmark. The eclectic interior decor artfully combines three very different styles: 19th century, art nouveau and art deco. The two floors and terrace on Las Ramblas are always packed with tourists and locals alike. The first floor is a good spot for a quiet coffee in a relaxing atmosphere. The selection of coffees, beers and pastries is simply excellent. Aside from tea and coffee, they also have wine, whiskey, brandy, and snacks such as tapas and bocadillos.
