Description:
With Japanese restaurants now the norm in Barcelona, it was only a matter of time before Nippon cuisine was fused with the local one. This quirky but deceptively brightly lit and functional-looking restaurant, led by Shojiro Ochi, a native of Japan who arrived in Barcelona in 1979, does just that. Ochi presents his goodies to you in set-price four- and five-course menus. These delectable morsels include bonito (a type of A-grade tuna) preserved in a Catalan escabeche, tuna with a sherry reduction, or duck's breast with shitake mushrooms. Desserts include more unconventional delights such as a foie bonbon and ostrich tataki.
