Description:
Alella's white, flowery wines and lesser known red ones come from a very old vineyard area. This wine tour of Spain's smallest wine region is perfect for enthusiasts who want to see the magic of wine close to Barcelona.
Take the bus or drive (approx. 30 minutes) from Barcelona city center to a modernist winery for a day of food and wine.
The cellar was established in 1906 and they produces flowery wines and cava (Spanish Champagne). There are only a few centenary cellars in Spain that offer you the chance to experience their wine-making process, so don't miss this fantastic opportunity.
From the different varieties that are cultivated in all the D.O. of Alella, to the transport of the grape to the cellar, the selection, the grubbing, and all of the steps that play a part in the wine making process. Housed in a historic warehouse designed by a modernist architect, the property abounds in history.
At the end of the visit you will have a tasting of one of their white flowery wines followed by lunch at the winery restaurant with tasting of red, white and cavas wines. The lunch consists of an aperitif of 6 dishes, main course, bread, dessert, coffee, wines and water.- © Viator2013
