Paral.lel (El)

Description:

• This street leads from the sea to Plaça Espanya and it was named for its location, on the 41º 44' parallel. In the early 20th Century, a lot of cabarets, theaters, bars and other sundry nightlife spots opened up along the street and for years attracted crowds throughout the day and night; however, most of those places have closed down now and all that remains is the memory of a glorious bygone era. Nevertheless, strolling around the area is a nice nostalgia trip and there are still plenty of cafés and bars to stop by.
