Dear Kimberly,

There are two cruise areas in the port. If you are on a small ship docking in the WTC, you'll be walking distance from the pier (but I don't recomend to walk from there to any hotel carrying luggage, that's too much). But most ships dock instead in Moll Adossat, which is not walking distance at all.

Then the rides from the city center to the port are quite short: 5 to 15min, so don’t worry about finding a hotel very close to the port: I’d rather choose a hotel in a fun area such as Passeig de Gràcia or the Old Town and the ride won’t be longer than the average ride to most seaside hotels anyway.

For the ones Smednick is recomending, Jazz is in the heart of the city (between Old Town and Eixample), Chic and Basic is in the Old Town (Born district), and Soho is in the Eixample. Equity Point are student-like cheap hostels.

One good recomendation would be , also very centrically located between the Old Town and the Eixample.

For more recomendations, sorted out by cathegory and location, and with my personal comments check my Hotel Googlemaps:

Other good recomendations would be the Pratik Rambla (Eixample but close enough to La Rambla) and Denit, also very centrically located between the Old Town and the Eixample.
