Description:
Built in the late 18th century, this is a Georgian mansion with battlements added to it by the Victorians. It is reminiscent of a castle and comes complete with a ghost story. All the bedrooms, though standard in size, are extremely ritzy (which may be why Overwater's phantom has chosen to stay), having been furnished with top-quality antiques. One room has an oak-paneled four-poster bed. Guests can enjoy the regal surroundings of the public rooms with their intricate and rich cove molding and formal Victorian antiques. The drawing room is a great place for afternoon tea, and the piano bar actually has a baby grand piano. On weekends there is a 2-night minimum stay.
