• Cider has become one of those fashionable drinks - dry as paint stripper and served so chilled that the taste buds are frozen anyway. This is probably no bad thing as the taste can be similar to the brew that once caused Stephen Fry to remark, "I wonder how they got the cat to sit on the bottle." This might not be the smartest pub in Bath but they do serve an impressive range of cider. If you think it's cloudy, well that's how proper cider is. Clear cider is often a sign that it's had the goodness refined away, or at least that's the legend. There's a juke box here, a pool table and dart board, live music on Sunday night, and no food other than snacks in packets, or pickled eggs. A pity that, as a tasty chunk of cheddar cheese would just set off the cider a treat, and at 7.3% alcohol for the Scrumpy, a little food could be useful.
