- This place has an unique name - but there's no medical connection here. It's just a good local that sells beer supplied by the Welsh brewery, Brains. Perhaps because of the name, this pub features in Peter Lovesey's thriller based in Bath, The Vault. As his novels have been sold to a TV company, now might be the time to drop in for a pint before it's famous and on the open topped tourist bus route. Here you'll find a good community pub with real beer, reasonably priced bar food served all day until 7p, and a pool table plus several dart boards. The landlady, Karen, plays for Somerset and half a dozen teams play here, including two ladies teams. Try it before the rush starts.
