Rat and Parrot (The)

  • Type: Bars
  • NileGuide Expert tip:

Student crowd during the week and mixed crowd on weekends.

  • Description:

    • This pub stocks an impressively large selection of wines including those from the New World, and beers, both draught and bottled, are on offer. Lunchtimes are popular due to the quality bar snacks at 'out of town' prices. The cheapest baked potato in the city can be found here and washed down with a glass of Chardonnay for less than £5. For those with larger appetites: try the 'Pork and Leek Sausage Mash' at just £5.25. Three sausages, mustard mash and oodles of onion gravy make this a very popular choice. Staff are friendly and helpful and a lively atmosphere makes this a real winner! Note: No children are allowed in the pub at any time. Access to the main area is possible for wheelchairs but toilets are not accessible.
