  • Bath isn't only about Roman baths, Georgian architecture and medieval heritage. There are other fun things to do in Bath, and that's no joke. Bizarre Bath is a comedy walk around the city. This tour is undoubtedly the local favorite. This is the tour to take if you are impressed by the beautiful surroundings and the graceful vistas but don't really care who built them. This is just silly -- silly and very funny. The guides will lead you hopping across Great Pulteney Street with your hands on your heads and your tongues poked out.

Join the Ghost Walks of Bath. This tour sets off from the Garricks Head pub, next to the theater, at 8 p.m. The tour lasts well over an hour and is an interesting way to learn about the history of the city. With so many of the buildings being period properties, the city has more than its fair share of ghosts, although most appear too shy to turn up at the Garricks Head.

You don't have to be into "alternative therapies" to enjoy a trip to Glastonbury, but it helps. The Somerset town of Glastonbury may be mainly known for the massive music festival that takes place nearby most years, but it is also the place to come if you are after anything remotely unorthodox. White witches live in Glastonbury's quaint cottages, scores of naked people gather periodically on the Tor at sunset, and Christ's blood is believed by some to flow in the waters of Chalice Well. Head here if you are in need of a new crystal, a love spell or a new packet of joss sticks. Whether you take Glastonbury seriously or not, it is a great place to spend the day. These outrageous Bath activities would probably make Jane Austen, Sally Lunn and Big Beau Nash turn in their graves; but, hey, they just seem like so much fun.
