Bath Boating Station

• Punts, Thames skiffs and Canadian canoes can be hired here by the hour or day for fun or exercise on the Avon. If you've never tried punting but fancy a go they'll give you instruction (very basic) as you set off. Most people head upstream from this Victorian boathouse as there's a pub in that direction and it's easier to come home downstream! All the boats are of the traditional wooden variety, most having been built on the premises, some being around one hundred years old. Refreshments are available too at this idiosyncratic establishment, and there are rooms available for bed and breakfast.
